  • there is a deep freezer in the cupboard.

Living room
  • wi-fi: there is no password for the wifi. it is under the name of kerylos and is unlocked.
  • two tvs: the one in the lving room is a paid tv and has various internationla channels ( bbc ,tv5 and others). you can watch netflix on it. The small tv in the master bedroom shows only greek channels .
  • marshall blue tooth speaker: this is brilliant and is discoverable on blue tooth under “kilburn”.
 
Bedrooms
  • aircons: all bedrooms have aircons. Please do not forget to switch them off when you leave your rooms as we are trying to qualify for an energy cosnervation programme and need to be within limits to qualify.
  • you will find mosquito anti-repellant plugs in your bedrooms. Please unplug them when you leave your rooms for safety.
Pool
  • small fridge for drinks.
  • barbecue: you need to turn off the gas cylinder after use.
  • swimming pool is fully automatic and a team of pool attendants come twice a week in the early morning to clean and chlorinate it. Please do not switch any lights as they all are automatic and on timers. Access to the pool vault is closed.
  • all garden lights are on timer and you don’t have to switch them on or off.

Supermarkets & Shops
For fresh meat, vegetables etc the Flevaris supermarket is approximately a five minutes drive from the villa. It is open from 9:00 am to 21:00 daily except Sundays when they close at 10:00 hrs.

Restaurants
There are over 40 restaurants in Lindos, Lardos and Vlicha. We mention a few downhere which are of our own preference. We put them in order of affordability:

ROULAS ( AT LARDOS)
Excellent for value of money. At Euro 20-25 per head ( with house wine served in 500 mm carafes) you will have an excellent meal. Go for the spare ribs and ask Yanni to serve you and mention the name Stefanos.

MOLOS ( AFTER LARDOS)
Home cooking at its best . At Euro 20-25 per head ( again with house wine) . Go for the lamb cooked in the oven.

PLATANOS ( VILLAGE LACHANIA 30 KMS AWAY)
Traditional Greek food under a plane tree ( platanos) and value for money ( Euro 20-25 per head)

HARAKI BAY ( AT HARAKI)
If you wish to have fish and not pay a fortune this is your best bet. At Euro 25-35 per head you can have an excellent meal.

PERIGIALI ( AT STEGNA IN ARCHANGELOS)
For fish this is the best ! At Euro 25-35 per head you will eat fresh fish but again with carafe wine.

BROCCOLINOS’S ( IN LINODS)
An Italian restaurant with an Italian Chef ( Helias) who is the best Italian chef on the island. Go for the bruscette and the gnocci to follow. At Euro 35-40 Euros per head sharing a bottled Italian wine you cannot go wrong.YOU NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE

FILOSOFIA
An excellent restaurant with fantastic views . At Euro 35-45 per head you will have very good meal an enjoy the views. You need to book in advance in July and August.

KTIMA; ( IN VLICHA)
Expensive at 45 -55 Euro per head but you will have an excellent meal.

MAVRIKOS ( LINDOS)
The very best restaurant on the island. Has two “Skufus “ ( Greek equivalent of Michelin Star ). Expenisve at Euro 45- 55 per head.

Beaches

VLICHA BEACH
The closest beach at the bottom of the hill a short walk away from the villa. The beach is sandy and the waters crystal clear. The extreme right hand side of the beach is quiet and more interesting for goggling as you can see many fish and even turtles. Water sport facilties are available on the left side of the beach.

KALATHOS BEACH
The beach is ‘pebbly’ and becomes deep after a few meters . On the right is the ‘Summer Love” which has luxurious beds and waiter service.

LINDOS BEACH: ST PAUL’S
The little bay of Agios Pavlos lies close to the anicninet acropolis of Lindos. The white small chapel was built by the family of my wife Xenia at the beginning of the Century. There are refreshments and snacks available and also a restaurant that is right on the sand.

LINDOS BEACH
A large beach in walking distance from the picturesque village of Lindos . Megali paralia is organized with sun beds umbrellas, fish taverns and water sports. The water is shallow and ideal for small children.

OTHER BEACHES
Pefkos beach, Agathis beach , Haraki beach , Glystra beach , Faliraki beach, Parsonisi Lardos Beach Kalathos beach Plimiri Beach , Glystar Beach are all different from each other . Prasonissi is about 50 kms away but worth the visit. People come from all over the world to kite surf.

Places to visit

LINDOS
The pretty village of Lindos is an artist’s dream. A cluster of white houses clinging to the hillside below an acropolis looking down into the golden sand of the beautiful bay. You can visit the Acropolis during the day . The donkey ride up the hill to the Acropolis is a unique experience. Best not walk back as the donkeys like to race back down where they will be fed and watered. The Doric Acropolis is a site to behold . Before you visit it is best to read extensively about the Acropolis.

RHODES CASTLE OF THE KNIGHT HOSPITALLERS OF ST JOHN
The castle of St John which has been designated a World Heritage Site. Don’t miss it . If you have not seen the castle you have not seen Rhodes.

OTHER PLACES OF INTEREST
The Valley of Butterflies, Seven Springs, the church of Tsambika and many other places of interest .
